Dottie brings many years of litigation experience to Flood Law and last served as Director of Litigation and Appeals for Hospital and Disability Support Services, Inc. in Baltimore, MD. Whether in courtroom proceedings, Administrative Law hearings, or appellate representation in Circuit Courts, Appeals Council and Commissioner appeals for disability cases, Courts of Appeal of Maryland, or Federal District Court, Dottie conscientiously, diligently, and vigorously, commits to achieve favorable outcomes.
Dottie represented hundreds of disabled clients before the Social Security Administration and she is now expanding her skill in disability law to represent disabled veterans, as well.
Dottie holds a R.N. certification with the Washington, D.C. Board of Nursing, a B.A. degree in Business (concentration in Finance) from the Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore where she was the recipient of the Finance Department’s “Academic Achievement Award”, and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law where she received the award of “Highest Achievement in Law and Medicine”. Dottie is admitted to practice law in Maryland.
Dottie maintains a residence in Maryland while also living in Delaware. She has three children and a Morky dog named Sadie. Dottie is a successful author of four books published by Austin Macauley Publications, N.Y., N.Y., which include The Gift of God’s Word (two editions), The Gift of God’s Heart, and From The First Nightingale to the Last. She is working on her fifth publication. Dottie uses the pen name, D. Ferris Arfaa.
During law school, Dottie bred, trained, and raced Thoroughbreds in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, and West Virginia. Her homebred favorite, Barnyard Monkey, held the track record for four furlongs at the Maryland State Fair for many years. Additionally, sixteen homebred winners hailed from her racing barn.
